Pande is a very spiritual Balinese artist whose love of nature is evident in his works, be it a painting, a wooden sculpture, or an installation. I visited his exhibition at Komaneka’s space years ago: it was a very moving installation of a huge face shaped with layers of cotton cloth usually used by women to remove their cosmetics. I still remember it vividly today.
