I met Sun Guangyi quite a long time ago, in Beijing – a shy and humble artist. It was his first time exhibiting his works in Beijing, although he has shown his works in Munich before. His works really speak to me. They are peaceful, feels like a blessing. He is a devout Buddhist who always remembers his roots, full of respect to nature, and mature. I think he gives us valuable lessons through his works and his daily life. I feel lucky to have met him.
