Shelwell first found her passion for glass while living in Shenzhen. “I want to explore the properties of glass. I love how it can change its state, from liquid to solid, and can be broken and fused, and then assembled once again. In my work I want to show the fractal and fluid nature of glass and how it is suspended, infinitely, in those states. A process of adding and subtracting until the final work reveals itself”.
