I invited Tisna to join the ‘Indonesian Invasion’ exhibition in 2008 after I saw his works in an exhibition in Yogyakarta. There is a lot of fire in his works. He is a soulful artist who is also an art lecturer at the prestigious Institut Teknologi Bandung in West Java. He cares deeply about nature and the environment, about human being. He is a humanist, a dedicated activist fighting for the downtrodden. His art and his activism are interrelated; both are intense. I have high respect for him.
