Living in Shenzhen, China since 2012.

Hayes first came to Shenzhen on a residency invitation to Da Wang Culture Highland. He specialises in ceramics and painting and has spent much time travelling around China researching these fields. His work relates to our common detachment from nature, and our current turning point in history where attitudes are changing and technology is offering a new route for humankind. Materials and processes are an important element to his work, as he experiments with context and matter through curiosity and playfulness.
